Its look and feel are pretty robust, so it seems like it’s pretty high quality. Those who don’t like the squishiness of soft, foamy mattresses will appreciate the medium firmness of the Casper Original.
The mattress is also great for alleviating pressure points and limits movement on the other side of the mattress, which won’t disturb sleep partners. The cover can be easily removed thanks to the zipper, which is pretty convenient. Further, the open-cell nature of the fabric helps to promote airflow throughout the mattress to keep sleepers cool and comfortable throughout the night.

An inch thicker than the Casper Original, the 13-inch thick Casper Wave is great for side sleepers thanks to its medium-plush texture and consistency that is able to contour to your body while you rest. This high-end mattress’ memory-foam layer density is 3.5 pounds per cubic foot, which means it’s best suited for those who weigh less than 200 pounds.
What are the upsides? The Casper Wave mattress feels as if it cradles the body and hugs it nicely without sinking too far into the mattress. It seems to ideally balance both firmness and softness with a bit of springiness from the latex layer. The all-foam version is best and seems most comfortable, though some may feel that it may feel a bit too plushy.
This mattress feels like a luxury memory foam bed that is designed to keep you cool at night by resisting body heat thanks to the outermost latex layer. The Casper Wave is also designed with contour cuts in the support base to help absorb any pressure and support the spine.
What are the downsides? Based on what you get with the Wave compared to other mattresses in the Casper lineup, this particular model is a bit expensive at a price tag of about $2,000, depending on the exact size. In fact, the Wave is the most expensive mattress in the Casper lineup.
For a mattress this expensive, it’s a bit surprising that it doesn’t have a better foam density than 3.5 pounds per cubic foot. However, it’s possible that the durable latex layer close to the sleeping surface may help to compensate for the mattress’ smaller density.
The Casper Essential
What is it? The Casper Essential mattress as a straightforward model that features streamlined construction and three layers of memory foam on the bottom, polyfoam on the top layer, and high-density polyfoam in the center. The outer cover is made of a durable and soft hybrid knit weave. It’s firm, supportive, and somewhat bouncy, making it ideal for those who sleep on their backs or stomachs.
What are the upsides? The Essential is a durable mattress thanks to its high-density poly foam layer. The outer polyfoam layer has a quick response to pressure, providing you with maximum comfort without much sinkage as the foam fills in the space around your lower back. At the same time, the section of memory foam underneath the outer polyfoam layer has a slow response to pressure, allowing for some contouring to provide more comfort at the shoulders and hips.
Finally, this mattress is the most affordable of all Casper mattresses and is relatively cost-effective based on other models in the industry. You can get a queen-size Essential mattress for a modest $795.
What are the downsides? Perhaps the biggest drawback to the Essential is that some might feel that it’s a bit too firm. Anyone who sleeps on their sides might not find this particular mattress supportive enough.
